Spots still open on swim team

The Decatur AquaRACERS Swim team will continue accepting new members until May 5. Tryouts will be held each Monday at 4:50 p.m. Swimmers should arrive no later than this time to fill out paperwork and be ready to get in the water promptly at 5 p.m.

Volleyball league starts in two weeks

Sign-ups are ending soon for the North Texas Volleyball Showdown spring league. Games will be played every Friday in May in Decatur and a season-ending tournament will be held May 31. There will be varsity and junior varsity leagues, and each team must have at least seven players and a coach or manager. T-shirts will be provided for all teams and there will be awards for most valuable player, hitter, setter, server and defensive player. Paradise memorial scholarship created

A scholarship has been established at Paradise High School to be given to a graduating senior in 2008 in memory of Ryan Lowe, a Paradise student/athlete who was killed in an accident Aug. 4. Anyone who wishes to donate can call Laura Hodges at (940) 210-9470.
