Former Decatur High School football standout Brennan Williams is no stranger to receiving awards for his hardwork. Those types of accolades have continued to pile up at the college level.
Williams is wrapping up a successful career at Sam Houston State where he played center. The senior was chosen as the 2007 Most Valuable Player of the offensive line on the Bearkat football team at the football dinner and awards program last Friday.
The former DHS Eagle was once again the starting center for the SHSU team. This year he was also honorable mention on the 2007 Southland All-Conference football team.
At the SHSU All-Sports Banquet on Monday night, Williams was named the 2007 Male Academic Student Athlete of the year. He maintained a 4.0 grade-point-average while playing football and working on his degrees.
Williams is a 2007 May graduate of Sam Houston State and will graduate in December with a master's degree in Agri-Business.
He is the son of Brent and Roxanne Williams of Decatur.
