The Boyd Yellowjackets had their stingers out for the Paradise Panthers Friday night as they won the Texas 114 battle 28-6 at Panther Stadium.
The Yellowjackets racked up 406 yards for the night, all of them on the ground. It was a great night for Boyd's Chris Demases and Jeremy Sessums, both of whom scored two touchdowns. Curtis Hamilton added four extra point kicks.
Demases scored first with a 24-yard run and Sessums followed four minutes later with a 32-yard rushing touchdown. In the second quarter, Demases scored on a two-yard run while Sessums added his second touchdown in the third quarter on a 46-yard run.
For Paradise, the lone score came as the second quarter began when Brolan Gentry hit Justin Bridges with a pass for a 65-yard touchdown. The extra point failed.
The victory kept the Yellowjackets undefeated in district and boosted their season record to 5-3. For the Panthers, the loss dropped their district record to 1-2 and their season record to 3-5.
Next week, Boyd hosts Cisco and Paradise travels to Godley for a game that could determine who ends up with the third and final playoff spot in the district.
